Abstract

Teaching is a profession that contains cognitive, affective, and kinesthetic abilities. In this profession, reach knowledge and experiences get together and social skills are in the forefront. Teaching practice course, which is the most important one in the professional practices is a course that includes implementations and activities towards teaching profession, students to gain skills and experiences, and construct opinions relevant with the profession beforehand. In this study it was aimed to determine classroom teacher candidates’ opinions and evaluations regarding the efficiency of teaching practice course I-II. As research design case study was used. Sample of the study was consisted of 4th grade students (N=29) at classroom teaching department. Semi structured interview forms that include five open ended questions that developed by researchers was used as data collection tool. Students’ written opinions were received by these forms and analyzed by content analysis. Analysis results were examined under five titles. At the end of the study it was found that teacher candidates have positive feelings against the course; they gained experiences in terms of the process; they found opportunities to evaluate their own inadequacies; and the course has important contributions to their professional life.
