Abstract

Ibrahim Adham is one of the great Sufi. He was born in Balkh in 714 and died in Damascus in 779. While he is a very rich princes in Balkh, he abondan the throne and choose to join Sufism. His hagiographic life have been printed before in Arabic letters, which was written as prose-poetic, which was carried Eastern Turkish and Turkmen language features, has been also published later with Latin alphabets. In this work, new information have been given which differ from the other sources about his life. According to this information and the Turkish -born mystic and thinker Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi was born in Balkh, such as, Ibrahim Adham also evokes the conviction might be of Turkish origin.
