Abstract

The opinion survey which was developed with the aim of determining football referees and their observers’ opinions of spectators and referees, was first delivered in the first half of 2016. Based on the hypothesis that active football referees and observers show a homogenous distribution in Turkey, the study was limited to the active football referees and observers in the Eastern Anatolian and Marmara regions. 164 agents participated in the study. The data of the study was gathered though a demographic information survey and questions which were finalized following pre-survey hypothesis tests. In light of The Opinions of Football Referees and Observers in Turkey of Spectators and Referees and How They Differ the survey scale is meant to test the mentioned hypothesis. In the study, eighteen opinions inherent to football in Turkey are presented. The participants who were voluntarily included in the study filled in the survey during the face to face interviews with the researcher. The researcher participated in the interviews personally, which ensured conducting goal-oriented observations and later use of the data with literature support. Following computerizing the collected data, frequency and percent ranges composed of demographic features were analyzed through descriptive statistics. Chi square analysis results were considered in terms of the significant relationships among the independent variables. In light of its goals, the study was concluded with general implications.
