This article utilizing recent counseling and rehabilitation literature explained Psychodynamic Theory. Background and history of psychodynamic theory, theory of personality, major counseling techniques of psychodynamic theory are discussed. Next, efficacy and efficiency of psychodynamic therapy examined using contemporary research findings. Finally, merits and limitations for application of psychodynamic theory is are discussed.
