Abstract

Experiential experiences are realized through the interaction of subconscious and supraliminal complex decision processes. According to many researches, human experiences particularly subconscious process are intensely influenced and driven. Moreover, these manipulations often activate the supraliminal beyond the awareness. These subconscious processes are sensory-based activations. Therefore, emotional pleasures of individuals’ can be one of the main triggers of this process. This research, especially in the context of Zuckerman’s sensation seeking scale, examines the rational and emotional changes of individuals' film experiences. The study is an experimental application in which both qualitative and quantitative techniques are carried out together. The study carried out on 33 students at Düzce University Gölyaka Vocational High School. And qualitative datum which gained from these students are interpreted by discourse analysis. SPSS 16.0 and Excel 2007 programs are used for quantitative part of the study. In the experimental part of the research , through preferences of the participants a movie, which name is “The Next”, considered as the sample application of the study. As a result of the study, it is seen that there are differences in the film preferences of the participants. Furthermore, this difference reveals that emotional and rational interpretations of the participants show differences.
