Disappearing forests day by day, drying rivers, polluted nature and desertification of soils reveals this situation most dramatically. Improper tourism activities for the sake of more profits are also responsible for the emerging of this environmental destruction that threatens the future generations. Especially unplanned and uncontrolled construction activities in the green areas and near the sea coasts, polluting enterprises and facilities are major threats to both historical and natural environment. However, environmental quality is of great importance for the tourism activities. Deterrent penalties and strict laws are also effective but unless changing people’s viewpoints against the environment, the desired results can not be achieved. Giving environmental awareness to the people will be able to make an important contribution to environmental sustainability in tourism. Environmental education will be able guide the efforts made in this regard.
