Abstract

Communication is also important in terms of students who will work in the communication sector as well as in all professions. Studies has shown that people with high communication skills are more successful in life. The study was conducted to compare the level of communication skills of foreign students and Turkish students studying at Uşak University Faculty of Communication and to reveal the relationship between some variables. In order to measure communication skills, validity and reliability proven questionnaires were used which were developed by Korkut (1996) of Communication Skills Assessment Scale (IBSQ) and researchers' questionnaires. Data were collected by questionnaire method. 100 foreign national and 100 Turkish student questions were asked and the obtained data were evaluated in the program of SPSS 22. As a result of the study, 86% of the students were satisfied with the department they study, Turkish citizens were more satisfied than the foreign national students, and this result did not vary according to the sex, and there were no significant differences regarding the courses where they were hard at by gender, and Turkish citizen students with a high arithmetic mean as 7,57 had more difficulties than foreign students (x ¯= 3,90) at classes, and the Turkish students with the arithmetic mean of 4.06 were more successful skills than the foreign national participants (x ¯ = 3,52) at the point of communication, and it was found that the female students with 3,93 arithmetic mean differed from the male participant students (x ¯ = 3,71) according to the communication ability.
