Abstract

In todays’ world, with the help of the evolving communication technologies people can handle with their daily works and by meeting strangers in some online platforms, they can discuss about some specific issues. While experiencing the world at home or work becomes easier by means of the internet, the platform created in this environment offers an alternative media to social movements. Nowadays many acts use the internet as a powerful resource for mobilization. In this context, in the study it is handled the “İklim İçin” movement, which is an ecology-based movement and laid emphasis on how being talked about movement created the public debate through their own media. For this purpose, there have been reviews on two websites and while the presence of specific qualities of new social movements are being questioned in shares, it is tried to be detected the efforts of the climate movement to organize and create a movement on the internet. In this study, where “Küresel Eylem” and “İklim İçin” Websites are taken as sample, descriptive analysis is applied. The sharings in the websites are categorized under five different headings; “1- Target COP21, 2- “Listen G20” The expectations and requests of climate movement, 3- Climate change is not only an environment problem, 4- Action calls and use of “We”, 5- Impressions of Paris and İklim İçin Radyo” and the texts were assessed without being torn from the context under the relevant headings.
