However, it is a technological trend that has an impressive business potential and is extremely important. Today, businesses and governments can gain new insights and make better and faster decisions by analyzing large amounts of existing corporate data that have not been used previously, using techniques such as text analysis, machine learning, predictive analysis, data mining, statistics, natural language processing and visualization. In this study, general information about the new trend, Big Data, is given. Later, using the GDELT dataset in BigQuery, a Cloud Computing service, the number of news stories about world conflicts between 1979 and 2017 was obtained. The obtained data were tested with the R program for compliance with the power law distribution.
