Abstract

Lystra was one of the most important ancient cities in Konya which hosts many historical settlements. The city whose foundation dates back to the prehistoric times, was an important intersection point on the roads connecting Iconium, the metropolitan city of Lycaonia, to the south and east. Beside having a strategic position, being a place where St. Paul visited on his journeys and preached his teachings, has provided having an important position in the history of Christianity. Many studies have been made from 19th century to today, but lack of an archeological excavation caused to remain many things in the dark. In this study, Lystra will be tried to investigate in a holistic sense.
