Abstract

This research is important in terms of evaluation and development of current vocational school education according to the opinions and suggestions of the graduates. The aim of the research is to make a general evaluation of vocational education according to the statements of vocational college graduates and to develop applicable proposals. The research was carried out in the academic year 2016-2017, with the participation of graduates of Kirklareli University Babaeski Vocational School. A mixed method of quantitative and qualitative methods was used in the study. Quantitative data were assessed by t-test and variance analysis. In the scope of qualitative research, phenomenology and purposive sampling method was used and the obtained data was evaluated with the help of content analysis. Research findings indicate that curricula at vocational schools need to be developed and updated according to the needs of the business world, which is the stakeholder of higher education. In the universities, alumni tracking systems and labor force databases, which can be utilized by the labor market, should be established so that contributions to the development of vocational and technical education can be provided.
