Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine teacher behaviors that affect creativity in visual arts course and to examine the effects of changes or corrections on the studies on students’ creativity and art development. Case study was chosen for the study and 10 visual arts teachers’ opinions were received who teach this course and are attending to Atatürk University Faculty of Education Art Teaching master program. The opinions were collected via semi-structured interview forms. Some of the teachers stated that they made some corrections on some studies which were preparing for exhibitions or contests. Also when teachers’ opinions are being examined, it is understood that some of them show true approaches towards supporting and developing children’s art development and creativity, and some of them, being far from this sensitivity, adopted traditionalist and authoritative approaches.
