Abstract

American artist Jeff Koons, who made his mark within the art world since 1980’s, is one of the most popular contemporary artists of today whose artworks are associated with Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop Art and Neo-Pop. The artist who could reveal ordinary objects or phenomena by combining with a psychological and philosophical approach that uses short-lived, inexpensive and easily accessible materials that are well-known by the society as a source for his artworks, is distinguished from his contemporaries with the artisan touch in the handling of his artworks and the style he uses. His most renowned work that brings the world’s attention to the artist with his innovative attitude can be listed as his monumental artworks like the reminiscent of Baroque sculptures “Michael Jackson and Bubbles”, the large-sized shiny mirror surfaced “Balloon Dog” and the giant puppy “Puppy”. This research is a screening model that interprets the artworks of Jeff Koon who supports his reputation by bringing his private life among his artworks and examines the general attitude in his art.
