MAJOR SOCIAL THEMES IN THE WORKS OF HALIM BARAKAT
HALÎM BEREKÂT’IN ESERLERİNDE ÖNE ÇIKAN TOPLUMSAL TEMALAR
Abstract
Halim Barakat, one of the prominent authors writing on social matters of Contemporary Syrian novel, touches upon the Arabic society, especially the struggle during the Arab-Israeli wars with his sociologist identity. The author, probing such matters with a notable success, introduces distinctive interpretations and explanations to the phenomena emerging in the society. This study, discussing his novels and works on field of sociology multi-dimensionally, aims to cast light on these issues in order to contribute on revealing the parallelisms between his works and social life.
