Abstract

The purpose of this article is to determine the traditional children's games that university child development students play during their childhood and to keep them alive. So that, the transfer of tradition to the future will be supported in writing and it will be a preventive contribution to many psychological problems, especially technology addiction, which is a modern ilness of modern age. This research was carried out with the participation of 50 students from 104 students of Istanbul Esenyurt University Child Development Program voluntarily. Survey findings were obtained by interview method. A blank A4 paper was distributed to the students who participated in this study voluntarily from child develepment programme and were asked to write traditional children's games they played during their childhood. By this means, 33 traditional children's games from 50 students were compiled. These games have been grouped into playing and not playing today, and as a result, it has been determined that 8 other games in which 25 games have been played no longer live.
