Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy perceptions and occupational burnout emotionsof teachers working at Imam Hatip schools. In the study, teacher self-efficacy scale which was developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) and adapted to Turkish by Çapa, Çakıroglu and Sarıkaya (2005) and Maslach burnout scale which was developed by Christina Maslach and Susan E. Jackson and adapted to Turkish by İnce and Şahin were used. The data were analyzed by SPSS 17. As a result of the study it was seen that teachers with strong self-efficacy perceptions feel less exhausted than those withweak ones. In addition, it was found that those working at Imam Hatip secondary schools have higher self-efficacycompared to those workingat high schools and that the female teachers feelmore emotional exhaustion than the males. It may be advisable to take measures to make sure teachers' self-efficacy perceptions are high.
