Abstract

The subject of this article is the problem of socio-cultural adaptation of Azerbaijani students studying in Istanbul. Azerbaijan is the second country with the largest numbers of immigrant students in Turkey. Although they share the same values in terms of ethnicity, language and culture, their social problems in a large city like Istanbul are the main problem of our research. The article discuss these students' reasons for choosing Turkey and their opinions about Turkey. All of these topics, which are examined within the scope of international student migration, are evaluated within the framework of 'Cross-Cutting Opportunities', 'Push-Pull' and 'Network' theories. As a result, it is determined that the most problems of the students in Istanbul are bureaucratic problems and they have no serious problem about social adaptation.
