The purpose of this research is to determine the attitudes of fifth grade students towards social values in terms of various variables. The data included in the study were collected with the "Perception Perceptions for Social Values" developed by Bakaç (2013); and the Cronbach-Alpha value for the measurement results was 0.83. The study was conducted with 344 students who were studying at the central secondary schools of Kütahya province in the academic year of 2017-2018. Data collected through the questionnaire were statistically analyzed with independent sample t test and one-factor variance analysis (Anova) and the results were tabulated. The results of the study showed that female students had higher scores on the perception of social values than male students regarding the gender variable; but this difference is not significant. It was found that the variable of reading books together with the family made a meaningful difference in the perceptions of the students towards the social values; parental education levels and the likes and dislikes of reading books did not make a meaningful difference in the students' perceptions towards social values.
