Abstract

Art education is an area of presenting our feelings, thoughts, and experiences through creativity. In addition, it adopts an interdisciplinary approach and it is guiding the individual in presenting his or her talents. Today, the art education in general terms constitutes an important factor for not only to related fields of fine arts and education faculties but to students from other fields as well. The student is encouraged into creative thinking, the sense of aesthetics is developed and the acquiring of critical perspective is aimed with education in art. Ceramics Education which is a part of Art Education is given as elective and compulsory courses at many universities and faculties. The ceramics education which involves workshop discipline is presented with teaching methods and techniques other than the theoretically handled courses. Teaching methods and techniques may vary according to the instructor. It was aimed to determine the teaching methods used by the instructor who teaches ceramics workshop courses to students from different departments in a private university with this study.
