Abstract

Bank performances are necessary for a more accurate functioning of the economy. The role of banks that collect and use funds in a healthy economic structure is important. The high performance of the banks is also positively reflected related in other sectors that are directly or indirectly. The factors affecting the performance of the banks were tested with the panel data method, in this study. Nine banks determined according to their asset size for 2005-2017 were included in the study. The increase in interest income increased the asset profitability; while non-interest income decreased its asset profitability. The increase in interest income reduces Tobin's Q ratio, while the increase in growth rate increases the Tobin's Q ratio. Another result obtained is that, the increase in non-interest incomes decreased the net interest margin, while the increase in interest incomes increased the net interest margin.
