Abstract

Food consumption has an important place in the sustainment of daily lives of human beings. In this study, consumers’ attitudes towards their “food consciousness and consumption habits” were investigated in city center of Şanlıurfa (cafe, restaurants and Balıklı Göl) through their preference and tendency towards food consumption. According to answers of 100 people selected for the survey application, consumers prefer the fast food the least while give the importance of cleanliness the most. When the effects of their demographic characteristics on these two items; age, education level, marital status, number of children, and occupation affect the consumption of fast food while monthly milk consumption and preference of meat type affect the cleanliness factors at the significance level of 0.05.
