Abstract

Space is the first problem of a painter who tries to paint an entity. For an artist who wants to paint the objects has to be a compulsory relationship with the space that shapes the world. As a result of this urgent relation, this act of painting tends to an entity which covers a place in the space and to an ideologic language that gives meaning to this entity. Space for the civilization, always has to tend to a meaning which shapes the world. Space, for having a potential of transforming to an ideological extension that determinates the human and the objects; the relation of the artist with the space is one of the dimensions of the ideological language. But the romantics transform the space directed to a meaning by the civilization because of the autonomy, to a counter artistic works extension: the space created by the aesthetical experience. The aesthetical experience of Caspar Friedrich’s view on nature is hidden in the nostalgic soul that wants to create a space against modernity. The ideologic and nostalgic meaning of Friedrich’s view on space can give a sense that human’s first creative act’s origins are hidden in his ontological relation with the space.
