Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between school burnout, gender and social problem solving in vocational high school students. Method: Study group of this study contains 225 females and 105 males, 330 vocational high school students in total. Method of the study is general scanning model. Data was provided via School Burnout Inventory (SBI) and Social Problem Solving Inventory- Short Form (SPSI-SF) and analysed by multiple regression, t and Pearson correlation technique. Results: By the results gained from statistical tests, there isn’t any significant and important correlation between gender and school burnout. On the other hand, by the results of regression analyse, it is seen that student’s levels of school burnout increase along as student’s levels of negative problem orientation and avoidant style increase as well. Conclusion: School burnout and sub-dimensions of social problem solving are related with each other in different levels. This subjects requires more studies on the subject.
