VIEWS OF SOCIAL STUDENTS 'TEACHERS ON SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY LEARNING AREA SOSYAL BİLGİLER ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN BİLİM, TEKNOLOJİ VE TOPLUM ÖĞRENME ALANINA İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERİ
This study is a qualitative research aiming to reveal the perceptions of teachers about ''Science, Technology and Society'‘ in social studies course. The study group consisted of 29 social studies teachers working in Denizli. In November 2018, 920-minute interviews were conducted with social studies teachers working in secondary schools(n=29). The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. According to the results of the evaluation, it is concluded that '' Science, Technology and Society'‘ are very important in terms of social studies course. It has been seen that this learning area provides students with many achievements such as predictive, innovative and creative thinking, research sensation and scientific curiosity. In addition, it was determined that participant teachers mostly used methods such as narration, question / answer, presentation, drama and brain storming. Students were interested in the subject and were interested in science and technological developments. It was observed that participant teachers used measurement and evaluation methods such as written evaluation, evaluation tests and using ordinary questions.
