The number of people entering prison has increased in recent years. The increase in prisons leads to an increase in the number of parents and children entering prison. It is well-known that environmental factors are important as well as the genetic characteristics of the child. Children whose parents are in prison are also considered in the context of adverse environmental conditions. In studies conducted with children in prison, there are many direct and indirect links, including the fact that the parents are in prison and their children have reduced their psychosocial well-being, experience academic failures, and increase their anti-social and criminal behavior. In this study, the developmental, behavioral and social difficulties experienced by the children of their parents in prison were examined in the context of the Ecological System Approach proposed by Bronfenbrenner.
