Abstract

While the phenomenon of green consumption acknowledges environmental factors, it remanins contributing to sustainable development on the basis of awereness as well. In this study, it has been aimed to determine the difference about green consumption attitudes and purchasing behaviors among different professionals according to the demographic characteristic of them. In the scope of the research, primary datas were obtained by using survey method with 400 employees working in both public and private institutions in Bolu city center. Within the framework of main purposes of the study, these following findings were obtained: Green consumption behaviors of female employees are higher than male employees’ green consumption bahaviors. In addition, even though consumers are concerned about the environment, they can not reflect this to their preferences while purchasing goods. The main reasons about this are the green product being expensive and not being found in most of the stores or groceries.
