CONTENT ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC DAIRY PRODUCERS AND / OR SELLERS' WEB SITES IN TURKEY AND EXAMINATION OF STRATEGIES USED FOR MANAGEMENT OF SALES / MARKETING OPERATIONS

Abstract

Organic milk is healthy, free of antibiotic and hormone-free pesticide residues, which does not contain mold (aflatoxin etc. mycotoxin) and GMOs in the process of production, has nutritional values higher than traditional milk and also total bacteria is well below legal limits during production phase animal welfare and preventive medicine are taken into consideration and is a reliable product. However, organic milk production is more difficult than conventional milk production. Because for organic milk production primarily organic vegetable production and organic livestock must be done. On the other hand, organic methods should also be used for the processing of organic milks. In the study, the marketing strategies and the content analysis of 15 producer and / or vendor company's websites which are on-line and off-line sales activities in the organic milk and dairy products market in Turkey is explored. When content analysis was done, it was seen that the internet sites of the companies in question were generally not very well structured and there was no on-line sales all of them. 5 companies are only seller and 10 companies only producer and seller. 7 companies use online and offline sales methods, 6 companies use only offline sales methods 2 companies use only online sales methods. The number of organic milk and dairy products presented for sale on the internet page is between 2 and 70. The customers who are demanding organic products are highly conscious and purchasing products after a research in social media. It’s important to identify the difference between products and companies in the web sites for sustaining competitive advantage.
