Abstract

Cities have an important role in the world order. From the past to the present, mankind has created settlements based on many factors. In the research, the identity of cities in the new world order was emphasized. Due to social and economic autonomy, the formation of cities has been under the influence of many cultures and religious values. Cities have been established by different nations on the changing world. Cities in showing the development of socio-economic sense in this context, Turkey is situated in a central location in Anatolia with the industrial revolution. Especially in the Seljuk and Ottoman period, there are cities forming important centers. With its commercial and historical features, it has maintained its position as a center in different locations. Because of the wars in the last century, the identity of cities has changed considerably and has gained economic and social importance with the industrial revolution. The fact that the cities with historical importance are accepted as an important center in the developing world order are important for our history and for the continuation of the generation of human beings. Turkey has a rich history in this respect should be left with the legacy of this cultural city. The historical facts reflecting the identity of cities have taken an important place in forming the identity of future generations.
