Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between in-service training and job performance and to determine the effects of in-service training dimensions on job performance. A total of 150 employees working at 4 stars and 5 stars hotels in the European side of Istanbul participated in the study. In the study, three data collection instruments were used: personal information form, in-service training scale and performance scale. The results of the study pointed out that learning motivation, chef support, individual gains expected from the training and the dimensions related to the career expected from the training had a positive effect on the work performance of the employees. In addition, according to gender, marital status, working time and position variables in the enterprise, it was found that there was no statistically significant difference between employees' perceptions of in-service training and work performance, and there were significant differences according to age and educational status.
