Abstract

Role conflict and role ambiguity in today's organizations are factors that increase employee stress and burnout levels while reducing job satisfaction, motivation levels and confidence. The aim of this study is to examine the differences between role conflict and role ambiguity, which have an impact on individual and organizational performance, according to socio-demographic variables. The research was conducted with the employees of the logistics business operating in Istanbul. The data was collected through a “Role Conflict-Role Ambiguity scale” and analyzed in the SPSS program. As a result of the research, significant differences between the under-25 and 26-30 age groups and between the under-25 and 26-30 age groups were identified in favor of those who found the number of personnel sufficient and those who found it inadequate; those who said that the way of working negatively affected the differentiation between those who positively and negatively affected their lives. Significant differentiation between the 26-30 and 36-45 age groups in favor of the 26-30 age group was found in role ambiguity scores. Differences between gender, education, occupational seniority, institution seniority, written status of duties and responsibilities, and task groups were not significant in role conflict and role ambiguity scores.
