Abstract
Çağdaş Suriye romancılığının önemli isimlerinden Halîm Berekât, sosyal konularda eserler veren yazarlar akımının temsilcilerinden biri olarak kabul edilir. Bere?ât’ın romanlarından otobiyografik türde yazılmış olan, realizm unsurunu tüm detaylarıyla işleyen ve Arap Yazarlar Birliği (AWU) tarafından en iyi yüz Arap romanı kategorisinde yer alan Tâ’iru’l-Hûm” (Humâ Kuşu) romanı çalışmamızın temelini oluşturmaktadır. “Tâ’iru’l-Hûm” romanında anlatıcı-kahramanın henüz küçük bir çocukken kaybettiği babasını yaralı bir Humâ kuşuna benzetmesi ve onun bir gün mutlaka uçup gittiği yerlerden birinden döneceğini umutla beklemesi, romanın sebep-sonuç ilişkisi çerçevesinde, bir bütünlük içerisinde incelenmesini sağlamıştır.

Abstract
Halim Barakat one of the most famous names of the Modern Syrian novelists, is considered to be one of the representatives who writes books about social issues. Tair al-Howm (The Huma Bird), one of the novels of Barakat which was written in the form of autobiography, consisting of all the details of realism, considered to be among the best one hundred Arabian novels by AWU, forms the base of our study. In the novel “ Tair al-Howm ”, the teller ensures us entirely in accordance with reason and result relationship that the hero’s father who dies when the hero is a small child is resembled to a wounded Huma bird and his hopeful waiting of the bird’s certain flying back from where it goes one day.
