Abstract
Batı toplumlarının düşünce sisteminden hareketle geçmişte belirli bir stili ve tarzı ifade eden moda günümüzde hızla tüketilen ve sürekli güncellenen bir kavram halini almıştır. Modaya duyulan ilgiyi arttırmaya yönelik her türlü faaliyet tüketme ideolojisine sahip bir toplum yaratmayı amaçlamaktadır. Sistem tarafından bilinçli bir şekilde dayatılan modeller toplumu ihtiyaçtan öte psikolojik bir alım gerekliliğine sevk etmektedir. Bu amaçla koşullandırılan ihtiyaçların toplum tarafından kabul görmesi ve tüketime hizmet etmesi sağlanmaktadır. Tüketim kültüründe moda göstergelerini bir çeşit güzellik algısı yaratma çabasıyla görünür kılmaktadır. Çalışmada Baudrillard’ın görüşleriyle desteklenen ifadelerden yola çıkarak düşünürün tanımlayıp içini doldurduğu tüketim toplumunda modanın algılanma biçimi, modayla yaratılmak istenen beden imajı, benlik algısı gibi konulara açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Baudrillard’ın moda kavramı sisteme hizmet eden birçok alanı kapsamakla birlikte çalışma kapsamına alınan açıklama ve örnekler sadece giysi modasıyla sınırlı tutulmuştur.

Abstract
Fashion, that used to refer a specific style and form in the past based on thinking system of Western societies, today has become a concept that consumed rapidly and updated constantly. Each activity towards increasing the attention on fashion aims to create a society with a consumption ideology. Models, which are imposed consciously by the system, lead society towards to buy because of a psychological compulsion rather than an actual necessity. It is ensured that needs conditioned for such an objective are accepted by the society and serve for consumption. It makes fashion indicators in consumption culture visible with an effort to create some sort of beauty perception. In this study it is aimed to clarify subjects, which are defined and explained by the philosopher, such as fashion perception in consumerist society, body image intended to create through fashion, sense of self on the basis of statements supported by Baudrillard’s views. Although Baudrillard’s fashion concept involves various fields that serve the system, explanations and examples included in this study are confined to apparel fashion.
