Abstract
Bu çalışmada Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluş yıllarında yaratılan burjuva sınıfının, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun yıkılmasının ardından eski Osmanlı soylu ailelerinin mal varlıklarına nasıl el koydukları; iki sınıf arasında insanların yaşadığı çevre koşulları ve aldıkları eğitimden de kaynaklanan farklılıklar ve bunun yarattığı derin uçurum gibi konuların tartışılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma için belirlenen en uygun yöntem edebiyat ile sosyolojiyi aynı çatı altında birleştiren edebiyat sosyolojisidir. Karşılıklı olarak hem edebiyatın siyasal, toplumsal ve ekonomik koşullara yön vererek onları biçimlendirdiği hem de sosyo-politik ve ekonomik şartların edebiyatı etkilediği fikri üzerine inşa edilen edebiyat sosyolojisi aracılığıyla Zülfü Livaneli’nin Leyla’nın Evi adlı romanının Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’ne geçiş sırasındaki bu dönemi nasıl yansıttığı üzerinde durulacaktır. Romandan örneklerle Osmanlı soylularının mal varlıklarını hangi sebeplerle ve nasıl kaybettikleri; aynı dönemde yükselişe geçen burjuva sınıfının ise tam tersine bu mal varlıklarını nasıl elde ettikleri gözler önüne serilecektir.

Abstract
Subjects such as how the bourgeoisie created during the years of foundation of the Turkish Republic seized the possesssions of the old Ottoman nobility after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire; the differences between the two classes stemming both from the environmental circumstances and the education they got and the deep abbys created as a result of this are aimed to be discussed in this study. In this context the most suitable method defined for the study is the literature sociology which brings literature and sociology together under the same roof. Through literature sociology, which is built upon the notion that both literature moulds the political, social and economic circumstances by directing them and socio-political and economic circumstances also affect the literature, it will be focused on how Zülfü Livaneli’s novel called Leyla’nın Evi reflected that period of transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Turkish Republic. The reasons and the way how the Ottoman aristocracy lost their possessions and how the bourgeoisie having started to rise in the same period, on the contrary, obtained those possessions will be revealed by the examples from the novel.
