Abstract
Roman, insanı kendi gerçeğine en uygun anlatmanın en kestirme yoludur. Tanzimat ile birlikte edebiyatımıza giren roman farklı mecralardan geçerek günümüzde Batı’daki emsalleriyle yarışacak düzeye gelir. Romanlarda toplumsal bir varlık olan insanın içinde bulunduğu toplumun siyasi, kültürel ve sosyal yapısı katmanlarıyla birlikte yansıtılır. Bir toplumun içinde bulunduğu ekonomik koşulları, siyasi yapıyı, toplumsal kuralları şiire göre ayakları gerçeğe daha sağlam basan bir tür olan romanda daha net bir şekilde gözlemlemek mümkündür. Her daim insanın özelinde topluma ayna tutan bir tür olan romanda kadın karakterler vaka unsurunun önemli bir parçasıdır. Tanzimat’tan itibaren toplumsal değişim ve dönüşümleri kadın karakterler üzerinden açımlamak doğru bir yaklaşım olabilir. Çünkü romanlarda Türk toplumunun modernleşmesi başta olmak üzere insanları derinden etkileyen bütün sosyal olayların yansımaları kadın karakterlerde gözlemlenir. Bu bağlamda son dönem yazarlarımızdan olan Zeynep Uzunbay romanları toplumun farklı kesimlerine mensup kadın gerçekliği başat unsurdur. Zeynep Uzunbay, Acı Bir Kuş ve Yokuş Aşağı Portakallar romanlarında köylü-şehirli, eğitimli-eğitimsiz kadınların ataerkil toplum düzeninde varoluş mücadelesini anlatır.

Abstract
The novel is the shortest continuation of the most appropriate narration of a person's own truth. The different channels of Rome, which entered our literature with the Tanzimat, compete with its counterparts in the West today. In the novels, the social, political, cultural and social structure of a person, who is a social being, is brought together with its layers. The best way to understand the economy of the book is to take a look at the social rules so that you can read more based on your story. In the novel, which is a genre that holds a mirror in every woman's private life, female characters are an important part of the event element. It may be a correct approach to explain the social changes and transformations from the Tanzimat onwards through female characters. Because in the novels, the reflections of all the social events that people think deeply, especially the modernization of Turkish society, are observed in the female characters. Zeynep Uzunbay, one of our writers of this economic last period, is not sure about the reality of women from different segments of society. Zeynep Uzunbay tells the story of the struggle for existence of villagers-city dwellers, educated-uneducated women in the patriarchal social order in her novels Bitter Bird and Downhill Oranges.
