Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine preschool teachers’ level of awareness about protection of environment and the level of their behaviors towards environmental problems. This study also aims to find whether preschools teachers’ knowledge on protection of environment and their positive attitude and behaviors towards environment have an effect on the behaviors towards the protection of environment. The population of this descriptive study in which screening model is used is 118 volunteer preschool teachers who work in kindergarten and preschools depended to Ministry of National Education located in Bingöl city center. Data collection instrument is ‘Personal Information Form’ in which there are teachers’ personal information and ‘Behavior towards Environmental Problems Scale’. As a conclusion, it was revealed that the preschool teachers’ awareness level showed difference according to items in the scale and their awareness level is found to be at medium level.
