Abstract

Halim Barakat one of the most famous names of the Modern Syrian novelists, is considered to be one of the representatives who writes books about social issues. Tair al-Howm (The Huma Bird), one of the novels of Barakat which was written in the form of autobiography, consisting of all the details of realism, considered to be among the best one hundred Arabian novels by AWU, forms the base of our study. In the novel “ Tair al-Howm ”, the teller ensures us entirely in accordance with reason and result relationship that the hero’s father who dies when the hero is a small child is resembled to a wounded Huma bird and his hopeful waiting of the bird’s certain flying back from where it goes one day.
