Abstract

In this work, we will examine in detail profile of reader in the Baudelaire's poem named Epigraph for a Condemned Book of The Flowers of Evil. It is emphasized by Baudelaire that reader is anyone who comprehend, interpret, criticize and take pleasure the text. Poet will also categorize the various types of reader, in a single title, to bring to light its real functioning in the poetic speech. This is a preface, in which the poet warned and informed the reader of what he will met in this book. This is a preface to entice the reader. In literature, an epigraph is a sentence in prose or verse placed at the head of a book, a book or chapter, to advertise or summarize the content, or to illuminate the poet's intentions.
