Abstract

According to the 2013 PRSBA results the population of Çanakkale province, is 502 328 people. The total assets of Çanakkale province is 993 318 hectares of land. 53.75% of forest and heath province area, 33.25% of the farmland, 2.23% the meadows and pastures, 10,77's% the residential areas, other land constitutes unfavorable agricultural areas. 81.5% of farm land for farming, olive groves, 8.2%, 6.3% vegetables, fruits 2.1%, while 1.9% are considered to be the area of vineyard. Çanakkale province, 210 642 of cattle, 415,543 sheep, 227,131 goats are available. Products obtained from goats; 13.377tons of milk, 2,230 kg of cheese, 13.2 tons of meat and 760 kg of feathers are produced. The work we did in Çanakkale was focused on the small ruminant livestock activities and goat raising. For almost ages Geographical factors, goat raising activities as well as their impacts on, the number of cattles and sheeps, changes in animal yields inputs and animal products, grassland areas issues are discussed. Çanakkale goat enterprises has changed too much for the last five years. Turkish Saanen goats were no longer mentioned in Çanakkale. The people living in the province as a result of their work with the university the geographical sources and the limiting of human activities from livestock provided more conscious farming activities. The shares of Bunda Provincial Food, Agriculture and Livestock Directorate Sheep Breeding and Goat Breeders Association is great. Provinces with a high potential of livestock activities provides necessary support, identifying the boundaries of pastures and rangeland areas to be given proper attention.
