Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine and examine the psychological acquisitions of the families whose children took up in fencing as a sport. The research was applied to the fencers' families in the cities Aksaray, Konya and Antalya (Alanya), total 100 families were included. The psychological acquisitions of the participants were evaluated by applying "The Psychological Acquisition Scale of Family in Sport" (SAPKÖ). When the results were analyzed, the most important acquisitions of the families in sending their children to the fencing sport clubs/schools were respectively regarded as sub-dimensions including "controllability", "identification", "status achievement" and "self-respect".
