Abstract

Air transport is one of type of transportation prefferred mostly in nowadays. Surely the most important factor is that it is fast and reliable. Nevertheless, this does not mean that no risk of accident. Together with the developing technology, studies and researches being carried out by many organizations to minimize risk of accidents. These investigations are carried out under specific headings to minimize the risk of accidents. They are primary factors known as causes of aviation accidents. These factors are as follows; Human factors, technical factors, other factors (weather, etc.). These factors have constituted cause of all accidents since the beginning of aviation history. These factors which in aviation accidents varried over time. For example, in the early years of aviation, either lack of hardware, or because the technology has not yet sufficiently developed, the vast majority of accidents was occurring technical problems. However, as we close today, with the development of technology as well as many backup systems in aircrafts, many high tech products have been used, which has caused accidents occurring by technical reasons. Despite the reduction of problems stemming from technical reasons, increasing manpower in the aviation industry paves the way for future aircraft accidents which will occur from human error. People such as pilots, controllers, technicians located in critical stage in flight or before the flight, can lead to disaster by making slight mistake. This article will examine historical changes of these factors that led to occurrence of aircraft accidents and accidents samples will be given.
