Abstract

The body image, which is one of the indispensable elements of the field of art from the past to the present, has changed in meaning and form in accordance with the conditions brought about by the age and these changes have been interpreted by the thinkers and artists of the age. The bodies that we can find the effects of socio- cultural variables from the early ages of mankind to nowadays, has continued its existence in the field of art as a reflection of ideological, scientific studies and daily life, as well as human values such as pain, death and pleasure. Especially, the image of the body that is shaped by the age brought about, While changing in form and content with the movements and style that has increased day by day in the field of art is presented to the viewer as a means of attributing value. The art of painting as an area where the value attributed to the body is visible and interpreted in the sense of time-space of the body has a privileged importance in terms of presenting historical data.
