Abstract
Space fact doesn’t only contain a practical field in human life. Space perception expands by passing from practical field to mental field during process. Similar process also has been realized in literary works and space expands towards an aesthetic that contains being one of the structural elements of text and attributed meanings to space by people. This expand provide to see many elements as space like geography, country, city, village, district, house. In literary works, as space component can be one of the structural components that form text and it can be seen also like in form of details which document change of people and society. In this point, one of visible examples of contribution that literature makes is to reflect ferries of İstanbul which is in centre of Turkish literature as a space. This study will examine the ferries which are approached as a space in Turkish literature and their discussion style in literary works over representative works. Additionally, partaking style of ferries which are told like essential part of city scenery or district, quarter, street, house as spaces that keep record of social change will be expressed and visible field of daily life, indigenousness, being from Istanbul, sense of belonging, will be also studied.
