Abstract
The family is one of the important institution that keeps its day-to-day existence. Each society has its own unique family structure. Considering these existing family structures, each society conducts research into its own family structure. This article will focus on the characteristics of the changes that have been experienced in the process, in order to obtain information about the Turkish family structure. The family will be briefly informed about the importance of family to the Turkish society, marriage ceremonies of the Turks, family members' communication with each other and so on. The characteristics of Turkish family structure will be tried to be revealed. In accordance with this aim, the subject of this article has been defined as the transformation of the traditional Turkish family structure and the factors that influence this transformation. The Turkish family structure will be informed and the changes that the Turkish family structure has experienced in the direction of the events that develop from the past to the present day will be emphasized. In this respect, the issue will be addressed in the direction of the structural functional approach.
