We all need basic sciences to have a better life, to understand and make a sense of our environment. The progress of science and humanity depends on the progress of the basic sciences. From this viewpoint, the object is the overall situation of basic sciences and the analysis of the problems of current structure. Research objective is to discuss the problems of basic sciences and to offer solutions. In this respect, university preference rates of basic sciences between 2010 and 2015 were analyzed. Besides, to evaluate the current problems, interviews were conducted with academicians and students of these departments in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. The basic problems are having the same departments at the universities in neighbor cities, quota increase and abolishment of pedagogical formation of Faculty of Science.},author={A.
