After a while from this rightful success the Kemalists who strictly controlled political power, they declared the Republican regime on October 29, 1923. Anymore, with an ideological politics based on Western modernization it was aimed to make new kinds of changes in society all across the country. During this time, it was inevitable that people and groups from different social sectors spread across the country were not affected by those top-down changes and transformations. The data of 1927 general population census is a reliable source for monitoring socio-economic and cultural changes in Turkey after the war and during the revolutions period.
