Abstract

The Ministry of National Education announced in January 2017 that the curriculum was updated and the draft texts of the updated curricula were released to the public and educational stakeholders for during the one month "hanging" period for views. This research is a qualitative study to determine the views of the teachers on the curriculum draft of the secondary school mathematics curriculum published by MEB. The study group has consisted of eight mathematics teachers who were working in official and private secondary schools in the Silifke district of Mersin province in the academic year of 2016-2017. Semi-structured interview technique was used to collect research data. Semi-structured interview form developed by researchers was used as data collection tool in the research and the collected data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis method. The research findings reveal that the teachers have found that the mathematics course drafting program published by the Ministry of National Education is generally positive.
