Abstract

From Turkish dialects point of view, glossary studies of Turkish dialect have begun with Huseyin Kazim Kadri's work of "Great Turkish Lugati". This glossary was followed by other glossaries. Contemporary Turkish dialect glossary studies, which continued until 1940 outside of Turkey, started to exist within the borders of Turkey after 1980s. Especially, Azerbaijan, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Turkmen, Gagauz Turkish which are close to Turkish Turkic and glossary studies related to these languages has been the most important thing. Glossary studies bring different languages, religions and different nations closer together. Gagauz are far from Turkey because they are Christians but in terms of language, it is the closest speech style to Turkey Turkish. No doubt Prof. Dr. Nevzat Ozkan introduced and caused to love of Gagauz and Gagauz Turkish in Turkey. Gagauzs and Gagauz Turkish have made an important place in Turkey with the work of Nevzat Özkan In this study, we will focus on two important glossary works published in Turkey about Gagauz Turkish, which is in the same group with Turkish Turkic. The number of items in these dictionaries will be revealed and the properties of the dictionaries will be given.
