Abstract

Family institution is community based and core. It allows the continuation of the social structure on a legitimate ground and ensures that the cult is transferred from generation to generation. One of these transmissions is traditions. Traditions are at the beginning of the strong elements that prevent the societies from becoming corrupt and whose ties with the past are strong. Societies are connected to the past to the extent that they maintain their traditions and maintain it. In this article, a review of the families related to the traditions and traditions of the novels of a period (1971-1980) of the Turkish novel was made. The novel type is a conscious choice because it carries traces of the social structure of the writing period. In our study what kind of traditions the family in the novels maintain, what novelists and novels the traditions are found, the origins and prevalence of the traditions encountered, and so on. topics will be emphasized. In the conclusion section, the traditions determined will be listed in concrete terms.
