The coach exhibits various leadership behaviors, therefore analyzing how these behaviors are perceived by the athletes who are in the audience is an important issue. By going out of these thoughts in our study, it was aimed to determine the leadership style that the coaches working in teams of handball sports athletes had and expected them. 56 male and 48 female college teams athletes participated in the study as volunteers who in the Interuniversity Beach Handball Turkish Championship participated in the 2016-2017 season program of the Turkish Universities Federation. “Personal Information Form” was created to get information about the handball players participating in the research. In order to determine the leadership behaviors of the coaches, a questionnaire was used to measure the “Leadership Behavior in Sports” which was developed by Chelladurai and Saleh (1980). The obtained data were evaluated with SSPS statistical package program and the level of significance was taken as p>0.05. As a result of the research, significant differences were observed between the levels of leadership behaviors of coaches according to sex, age variables, handball players participating in the study. According to the sporting year and the departmental variable in which they have studied, no significant differences were observed between the levels of leadership behaviors of the coaches.},author={Atalay GACAR-- Eyyüp NACAR - Esra BAYRAK AYAŞ},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Social Sciences}}
