Abstract

Abdülhak Hâmid Tarhan is an artist who has been recognized as a master in his period and is the source of the interest and compliment of most writers. His work called Kahpe (Bir Sefilenin Hasbıhâli), which he received while he was in Paris, is an important example of feminist literature as well as being an example of romantic literature and a sentimentalism in Turkish literature. Tepedelenlizade Hüseyin Kâmil, an Inter Generation artist who lived between 1864 and 1921, accepted de Hâmid as the master and received the work of Bir Müteverrimenin Hissiyâtı, which he emphasized as the imitation of Kahpe. In this art which can be processed in the Gothic literature line, Hüseyin Kâmil succeeds in provoking a cathartic effect on the reader through romantic, sentimentalist influences. The tragic structure of this work, which can be regarded as a kind of soliloquy in terms of its kind, is also remarkable. In this article, first a brief information about the literary period of Inter Generation will be referred to the place of Hüseyin Kamil in his turn. Then the text will be transferred to contemporary Turkic by making a study that determines the position of the work, which is a romantic, gothic, sentimentalist, poetic soliloquy, in the mentioned titles.
